Since my last update, I've produced two new Photoshop pictures to promote The Last Shadow and Five Cats and Five Movements. My Photoshop skills are steadily improving, and I hope to reach the level to produce short videos soon. Both pictures mix AI and real-life photography. I'm becoming more comfortable with this strategy, and I've learned how to make use of features like layer cuts, mask overlays, level adjustments, color layers, image transformations, and similar options. I've also mostly used a few Frank Frazetta pictures (my favorites fantasy artists) as models for color application and mixing, though admittedly, I haven't been able to make my pictures "pop" the way his does.
The picture for Five Cats and Five Movements focused on the horror aspects of the story and used the demonic cat-clock as the central feature. The clock itself is an AI image (Copilot). The other images (i.e., cats, clouds, desk, etc.,) are public domain photos and some of my own. As an aside, I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality of pictures I can get with my Samsung S22 cellphone.) The feedback from posting this picture has been especially good.

I posted the picture for The Last Shadow a few days ago. I had trouble finding a public domain picture of a rundown bedroom and had to rely on an AI image. I don't like using AI for background imagery. It tends to use a color palette that leans into a mix of reds and yellows and little or no mix of blues. Consequently, I might update this picture if I can get a better bedroom image from public domain. As another aside, it usually takes more time to find acceptable public domain pictures than it takes to Photoshop the entire image. The woman in the picture is actually four different women, including an AI woman. With the exception that part of her and the bedroom, everything else is Photoshopped public domain.

I hope you check these out at www.hemmaat.com and Facebook.
