The Last Shadow - Latest Ad

In case you missed it, this is my latest ad for The Last Shadow. This image is from Chapter twenty-seven of the story, when Lucy is trying to escape from Finishers, with only seven hours left to make it to the Tranquility. (Accompanying back-cover text is below picture.)

Africa 2307 – a land completely transformed by centuries of genocide. Lucy is one of seven teens – the last true Shadows, girls with the potential to resurrect her people back from annihilation. But that possibility is not what compels Lucy across the continent’s computerized highways and putrid slums. Lucy just wants to look normal and to be free of the stigma and hate that her unique appearance causes.

The Tranquility promises to be the place of her dreams, a place beyond the reach of those who want to kill or enslave her. But to get there, Lucy will need to elude the corporate oligarchs who benefit from hatred of Shadows, and who need Lucy to ensure that hatred endures.

They’ve dispatched a ruthless operative to catch her – Jude, a man remorseful about past missions, hoping the massive payout from this one will buy him a new life.

In a world bent on Shadow erasure, Lucy must overcome fear, disillusionment, and shame to reach her destination. She has six days, one hour, and thirty-five minutes until the window to the Tranquility closes.
